Article 1: Roller Coaster Emotions

Have you noticed how life can be like an emotional roller coaster? One day you feel fine, the next you feel upset, hurt, depressed, lonely, angry or fearful.

We find many ways of not really feeling our most painful emotions, in fact most of us are really good at this! What do you do when negative feelings start arising for you? Do you bury yourself in work or busy yourself in the house? Perhaps you turn on the TV or radio to distract you or reach for food, cigarettes or a drink? Do you go to sleep or sink into depression? Do you point the finger ‘out there’ blaming others or phone a friend to talk it out? (if it seems to help, it does - for a short time – until the same old issue arises again in another form).

We all have layers of emotional stuff that get in the way of our peace and happiness. Those closest to us seem to push our buttons most easily and when we are off balance emotionally we might say or think ‘You made me feel…..’ ‘I wish you were more…..’ etc. We want them to behave differently. Yet the cause of the emotional patterns that we are running lie deep within ourselves, in unresolved emotions caused by events long ago that caused us hurt and pain.

Everything that has ever happened to us, both good and bad, is stored within our body as cellular memories, even those things we cannot remember now. When we were young most of us were taught to be ‘good’ which, of course, meant not expressing our painful and negative feelings. Often we were too young to express ourselves anyway, or we were afraid of upsetting those around us.

Emotions arise within the body (for some, it is the thoughts that arise in the mind that trigger the painful emotions). When emotions are allowed to be fully experienced and expressed in a healthy way they leave us. If they remain unexpressed and pushed down they have to stay in the body. It seems clear, therefore, that emotional issues that are very deep or longstanding can have a physical outcome.

In fact, there is now scientific proof that the only core cause of illness, pain or disease is unresolved, negative emotion stored within our body cells. If part of you questions this, cast your mind back to a time when you experienced a strong emotion, like anger or fear that was not fully expressed. Afterwards you may have felt very tired, physically stressed or developed pain such as a headache. This is the body’s physical response to negative emotion that remains within.

Present day events, even trivial things, may trigger long-held negative issues and the associated emotions rush to the surface. Have you ever noticed how you can completely overreact to some little thing and afterwards feel awful, confused or hate yourself for it?

For example, if someone has a pattern around lack of self-worth, events in the past may have made them feel deep inside that they were not loveable or valuable. They may react to current events with anger so they project this outwards when, in fact, they are feeling not good enough inside.

Another person might react with insecurity or jealousy, with shyness or lack of confidence. Others might end up running around meeting others needs, neglecting themselves and feeling hard done by. None of these responses is healthy, all will bring lack of peace and harmony. We may know plenty about the patterns and beliefs that do not serve us and yet we still find they run our lives.

These emotional patterns come up again and again, wrecking our happiness, preventing us from being the peaceful, free beings we know or wish ourselves to be. We can even come to believe that this is how we are, that it’s in our genes to be this way. We might say "I’ve always been like this”. You may have no idea where this comes from. If, however, you know the cause of your negative patterns or beliefs you may have done lots of work on them, perhaps affirmations, courses, counselling, or energy healing, yet if there’s something that keeps arising for you, no matter what you do, you may only be clearing on the surface level. The core cause must be much deeper.

There is a gentle yet profoundly deep healing process that can take you to the original cause of both emotional and physical issues. This is called the Soul Freedom Process.

This process is experienced at the level of Source (Deepak Chopra calls this ‘a quantum level of consciousness’). It is a place of infinite wisdom and healing, a place where the answers you need are always available. Article 2: Emotional Patterns

There has been so much written about creating our own reality, that most of us are beginning to accept that it may be true. Yet in accepting this, we may be piling guilt onto ourselves. When some disaster strikes, when our loved ones treat us badly, when life feels unhappy, many of us say; ‘I created this. Why can’t I create a happy and peaceful life? What’s wrong with me?’

But we can never be completely in control of what happens to us.
We are not alone on this earth – each of us is part of an interrelated whole that constantly changes. However, we are in charge of our own attitudes and feelings, how we respond to our world, what we believe about ourselves. We are responsible for our interpretation of events and our response to the other people in our lives – it is in this way that we create our own reality.

It is the emotional patterns we run that create these responses. They seem to control us, running, even ruining, our lives.

In her practice, Soul Freedom Therapist Veronica Croft helps her clients identify and clear these patterns. Here are some of the common patterns that her clients come to her with:

fear of loss or abandonment, creating insecurity or jealousy

fear of not being good enough, creating the need for approval or even an overlay of arrogance

fear of failure, creating lack of confidence, procrastination or unfulfillment

fear of being hurt or rejected, creating walls around the heart, leading to lack of closeness and inner loneliness

There are many other patterns such as anger, guilt, grief, sadness or depression. For some of us the pattern might be lack of empowerment or having no control over life.

What patterns are running your life?

These patterns are not who you really are – they are the overlays shadowing your beautiful inner nature which is peaceful, harmonious, trusting and loving.
When we run negative patterns we have simply forgotten who we really are, so that we appear to be what we are not – fearful, anxious or angry, full of self-doubt, insecurity or guilt.

All of our patterns cause us to blame – ourselves, other people or ‘life’ and blame disconnects us from our inner peace and happiness.

Remember, someone else experiencing the same situation may react in a totally different way. These are your patterns and these patterns lead you to think, believe and behave in ways that you may have come to believe are your true nature. How many of us have said;

‘This is how I am, I’ve always been like this’.

Yet, when we recognise and own these patterns, we can finally take control of our lives. We can begin to make changes within, instead of continually hoping that changes will come into our lives from ‘out there’. Only when we have made changes within, will the changes we want in our lives and relationships begin to come about.

We cannot redirect the wind but we can adjust our sails

The origin or roots of your patterns lie somewhere in your past yet you do not have to know or understand how they came about before embarking upon the route to healing and freedom.

Deep within you, as cellular memories, there is a younger self who is still hurting in some way – the emotions that keep arising for you are, in fact, hers – and the whole purpose of the Soul Freedom Process is to uncover how this came about, who else is involved, what painful emotions are present and what negative beliefs are beginning to be set in place, what has never been let go of.

The Soul Freedom Process is experienced at the deepest level – that of essence or soul or source (or whatever you would call your inner being). This is a place of unlimited healing and wisdom and the underlying patterns revealed during the process.

During the gentle yet powerful process that Veronica uses in her practice, the roots of the negative pattern are made clear, resolved and finally let go of. The energy behind the emotions diminishes and even disappears.

This letting go is permanent, leaving only positive beliefs and emotions. And so, your interpretation of words spoken or events that happen becomes different. Your reaction to your world finally changes. Your attitudes, beliefs and behaviour change, relationships improve, your feelings and thoughts about yourself become positive and wholesome, and peace returns.

Freeing ourselves from negative patterns is essential for good physical health as well as our mental and spiritual well-being. It is now widely recognised, even in traditional medical fields, that negative emotions lead to physical pain, illness and even death. Therefore, the Soul Freedom Process can be used to bring about the healing of a wide range of physical problems. And of –course, because our emotional issues and physical issues are so interlinked, either a Physical Freedom process or an Emotional Freedom process can bring about unexpected results as these case histories illustrate:

Sam came to Veronica suffering from persistent and debilitating migraines. In addition to a vast reduction in the intensity and frequency of the headaches, he was delighted to discover his confidence level was hugely improved after the process and he felt so much better about himself.

Julia was experiencing depression and lack of purpose when she came for her Freedom process. Afterwards, the depression lifted, her sense of purpose returned and life began to flow again for Julia. In addition to all of this, ten years of chronic back pain, which had persisted no matter what she tried, had completely disappeared by the end of the process!
